Our mission is to provide culturally sensitive and comprehensive behavioral health services of the highest quality to under-served populations. - We care for the diverse people in our community with an emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable among us, including immigrants, the persistently mentally disabled and those with head injuries.
- We believe in the principles of prevention, and continuity of care, seeking collaboration with the people most involved in the lives of our clients. We are committed to training mental health professionals to the highest standards of practice in a culture of mutual respect.
The Staff of the Hume Center Believes: - In the principle of the inherent potential for ongoing growth and maturation in all people.
- That psychological pain, dysfunction or symptoms are teachers signaling the arrest of our ability to be engaged and fulfilled in life.
- That creativity and growth emerges when given the opportunity and encouragement by creating an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance, in which the person can freely re-experience themselves and learn new ways to deal with the pain and suffering experienced in the past.
