Successful Summer of Fundraising and Community Outreach

The Hume Center is very appreciative of the yearly support it receives by partnering with the Greater Bay 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association (GBFOA) and India Community Center.

Annual Golf Tournament: June 11, 2012

The GBFOA is a community of franchise owners of local 7-Eleven convenience stores that has supported The Hume Center with their Annual Golf Tournament since June, 2008. This year's tournament was very successful, thanks to the efforts of the Golf Commitee of the GBFOA.  There was an increase in the number of companies that paid to be Platinum Sponsors of the event, the highest sponsorship package. Over 90 golfers had a great day of golf at Hiddenbrooke Golf Club and a foursome from Pepsi came in first place while the team that featured The Hume Center's own Leslie Miao came in second place.

Sevathon: July 22, 2012

India Community Center plays so many roles to the local community: as a cultural hub, community center, medical clinic, etc. The Hume Center provides behavioral services at India Community Center through our South Asian Community Health Promotion Services Program. The Hume Center is one of 60 non-profit organizations that partners with India Community Center to partake in Sevathon, which is a run/walk fundraiser event, cultural celebration, and health fair annually in July.

The Hume Center sponsored a booth at the Health Fair and a team of staff and trainees enjoyed a spirited day of good food and networking while reaching out to the thousands of participants at Sevathon. A dozen walkers and runners came out to wear Team Hume t-shirts and walk or run in the 5K, 10K, and the Half-Marathon.

The Hume Center looks forward to participating in these events again next year and celebrates the partnerships that support our goal of preventing and treating psychological suffering.
