George Hu, PsyD selected by APA to attend Psychology Summer Institute

George Hu, ACOP Program Coordinator, was recently selected by the American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program to attend their annual Psychology Summer Institute, to be held in July in Washington, DC. This institute was designed as a professional development opportunity for graduate students or early career professionals with identified goals of contributing to research or practice with ethnic minorities. As part of this experience, Dr. Hu will attend the week-long institute, and work with professional mentors in the field to develop a training program and service delivery strategy to serve ethnic minorities in our Alameda County Outpatient Program. Dr. Hu will also receive one-on-one mentorship regarding accessing funding and grant opportunities, as well as attend meetings on Capitol Hill with congressional representatives to discuss mental health care for the minority population. We are very excited for this opportunity both for Dr. Hu and The Hume Center to receive this mentorship and development.
