BCS Wins Contract to Help Determine Least Restrictive Environment

The Hume Center's Behavioral Consulting Services (BCS) Department has Expanded its Services after being Awarded a New Contract by RCEB:

Continuing with the department’s vision to provide comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, BCS responded to Regional Center of East Bay (RCEB)’s Request for Proposals in October, 2012 and submitted a Letter of Intent to provide comprehensive assessments for RCEB consumers who are currently residing in a developmental center, mental health rehabilitation center, and other institutional settings. On December 11, 2012 we were informed that The Hume Center was awarded this contract.  We expect to complete 60-70 assessments by the end of 2015.  Consumers being assessed may have medical, behavioral, psychiatric/mental health, or forensic challenges, or a combination thereof. The results of these assessments will be utilized by the Regional Center to assist in the determination of the least restrictive environment for the consumers.  As a provider of community mental health services, we are very excited to take part in the determination of appropriate placement for these individuals and will continue to work closely with RCEB and other Regional Centers we work with to develop community behavioral health services programs to meet these consumers’ unique needs.
