Board Makeup and Involvement. 

We have an ethnically diverse board of directors from business backgrounds, the public sector, including providers, as well as family and consumer representation.  The board members offer specialized professional expertise in areas such as:  business management and development of nonprofit organizations and for profit businesses, behavioral health field, finance, fundraising, legal, etc.  The board includes family members who come with the following experience:  navigating their family members in receiving behavioral health services provided by public entities in both Contra Costa and Alameda County; a family member who has or had a mental heath condition yet experienced barriers in accessing services.  We have also had a board member who was a past president of NAMI in Contra Costa County and the mother of a Hume Center patient.  We also have a board member who represents a consumer perspective in receiving public services.  Overall, each of the Board members have contributed from their personal experience and/or professional experience to program development and delivery of services to clients and family members.
